Pac Heights penthouse with Levi Strauss history hits market for nearly $19M

5.2K sf home last sold for $6M before extensive renovations

A Pacific Heights penthouse tied to the Levi Strauss denim dynasty is on the market.

Tech entrepreneur and investor Sreekanth Ravi has listed the penthouse at 2100 Pacific Avenue in the high-end neighborhood for $18.5 million, Mansion Global reported

The property was owned by former Levi Strauss & Company CEO Walter Haas Sr. and his wife Elise, whose father was Levi Strauss’ nephew, from 1949 until the late 1980s. Ravi bought the penthouse in 2021 for $6 million. He originally planned to spend approximately $4 million on updating the residence but ran into hurdles like one million pounds of debris in the walls that needed removal and uneven concrete floors, leading to the budget “far exceeding” original expectations, Ravi told Mansion Global.

The renovation endeavor at the 5,180-square-foot residence was completed last December.

“The upside of all the work is I got exactly what I wanted,” Ravi said. The 10th-floor penthouse is one of two units in the building that take up an entire floor. “The views are spectacular — everything from the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz, the Salesforce Tower and the Transamerica building to the Bay Bridge and out to the ocean to the west,” Ravi said.

The penthouse is on the top floor of the building, which allowed Ravi to raise the ceilings up to 11 feet. The apartment has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, as well as a dressing room and one bathroom with heated marble floors. A home office, gym and breakfast nook are also available to a buyer.

Pacific Heights has seen a number of high-ticket sales in recent months.

Last month, a mansion on the neighborhood’s famed Billionaires’ Row sold for $42 million, making it the priciest sale in San Francisco this year. In August, a Pac Heights mansion featured in this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase sold for $16.2 million. And in May, a home at 2750 Vallejo Street sold for $20.6 million, down from a 2023 sale price of $23.5 million.
