Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne home in Hancock Park lists for $17M

Historic estate features celebrity signatures on the fireplace and hand-painted wallpaper

The Los Angeles estate once shared by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne – the titular couple in the television show “The Osbournes” – has returned to market for $17 million, following Ozzy’s death in July 2025.

The couple purchased the circa‑1920s Hancock Park mansion in 2015 for $11.8 million, The Wall Street Journal reported. They listed it in 2022 for $18 million before withdrawing amid plans to remain in California rather than relocate permanently to their Buckinghamshire estate in the U.K.

Spanning roughly 10,200 square feet on a half‑acre lot, the property at 501 South Hudson Avenue includes a main residence and guesthouse, both extensively renovated by the Osbournes to preserve the home’s early‑20th‑century architecture while modernizing its amenities. The interiors feature a home theater with a fireplace signed by visiting stars — including Elvis Presley, Mel Tormé and Natalie Wood — a tradition begun by former owner and radio host Frank Bresee and maintained by the Osbournes. One of the suites has hand-painted wallpaper.

Outside, the estate offers a European‑imported fireplace in the loggia, a new pool and manicured gardens befitting Hancock Park’s historic character.

Listing agents Jonah Wilson and Josh Greer of Carolwood Estates describe the residence as one of the enclave’s most distinguished homes, located about five miles from downtown  Los Angeles. Sharon  Osbourne, who now divides her time between Los Angeles and the U.K., has not commented publicly on the sale.

Ozzy Osbourne is acknowledged as a pioneer in heavy metal music genre through his work with Black Sabbath and solo hits like “Crazy Train” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” Later, he and his family became the stars of MTV’s show “The Osbournes,” which ran from 2002 to 2005.

The rocker was buried at the family’s Buckinghamshire estate after his final charity concert in Birmingham, which raised millions for Cure Parkinson’s.

The listing follows a record $23 million sale in Hancock Park last year, underscoring the neighborhood’s appeal among entertainment and business buyers. Although not as internationally famous as Beverly Hills or Malibu, the L.A. neighborhood has housed plenty of celebrities while flying under the radar. They include boxer Muhammad Ali and philanthropist Dorothy Chandler, whose “western White House” estate hosted a number of U.S. presidents. The former Howard Hughes estate in Hancock Park even appeared in the biopic “The Aviator.”
