Coldwell nabs top-ranked Khrista Jarvis team from Compass

The Bay Area’s Khrista Jarvis Team, the nation’s top-ranked all-female team, is leaving Compass after four years for Coldwell Banker.

Jarvis, a founding member of the New York real estate’s local group when it expanded into the Bay Area in 2018, said Coldwell’s “global reach” makes sense for clients who are increasingly seeking properties across the nation and around the world.

“Many of our local clients are interested in purchasing second homes in luxury destinations nationally, such as Miami, Aspen and even Nashville,” Jarvis said in an email. The Danville four-realtor group is also the top medium-sized team in Northern California, notching more $600 million of sales last year, according to RealTrends.

In a red-hot real estate market, the team’s sales almost doubled last year compared with 2020, closing about 300 deals and negotiating more than $38 million in over asking prices.

Until now, the East Bay team, led by Jarvis and business partner Nicole Jung, has specialized in large single-family homes in Contra Costa County’s most expensive communities such as Alamo, San Ramon and Walnut Creek. Their biggest sales last year included a $6.7-million Alamo home with a 10-car garage, sports court and orchard on almost an acre and a Danville eight-bedroom with almost 10,000 square feet on a private road with Mount Diablo views that went for close to $5 million.

The 2021 market was unlike any Jarvis experienced in a two-decade real estate career, she said. Her team “was able to hustle and adapt” by providing video tours of not just homes but also the local community to help remote clients seeking to relocate. That said, Jarvis said affiliating with Coldwell allows the team to open its own office to meet clients face to face as well.

“This separate office space will let us literally open the doors to the local community to ensure we are even more closely connected to the cloth of our neighborhood,” she said.

Coldwell also named Jarvis as its first global luxury lifestyle ambassador. She will help design and launch a program meant to “capitalize on the rejuvenated interest of luxury opportunities in the United States and around the globe,” according to a news release.

The group “adds significant star power and industry prowess” to the agency, Jennifer Lind, president of Coldwell Banker Realty in Northern California, said in the statement.
