A century-old Presidio Heights mansion is getting yet another price cut.

The Koshland House, as it’s known, was built in 1904 for wool merchants Marcus and Cora Koshland, 7×7 reported. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, the home at the corner of Washington and Maple streets has a sandstone facade and stained-glass windows.

In 2007, CNET founder Halsey Minor found himself in possession of the property and, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, had to unload it. With water damage, holes in the ceilings and out-of-date construction, the home’s price dropped to $21 million from $25 million.

The home got a facelift in 2019 when it was transformed to host the 42nd Annual SF Decorator Showcase. Some 40 designers, including Jonathan Rachman and Studio Heimat, added modern touches such as hand-painted wallpaper, one-of-a-kind light fixtures and bold patterns.

A month after the showcase, the home hit the market with a price tag of $30 million, quickly reduced down to $19.8 million. Two years later, still without an offer, the asking price has been dropped to $17.3 million.

The Neo-classical mansion has nine bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms and two kitchens. Design elements include marble floors and walls, Grecian-style columns, vaulted ceilings, French doors and intricately decorated fireplaces. The home also has a three-story central atrium with a stained-glass window skylight.

In addition to the main floor kitchen and a kitchenette on the third level, the home also has a full catering kitchen, with two of everything, on the lowest level.

The lowest level also has the original Hall of Mirrors-inspired ballroom, which was updated with a Calacatta Viola marble bar and warm, dark colors to transform the space into a modern nighttime lounge.

A manicured French-style garden, parking for six cars and an elevator are some of the additional features of the 18,788-square-foot home.
