Silicon Valley life science startup Personalis has pulled up stakes from Menlo Park for Fremont offices that triple the size of its cancer-fighting lab.
The genomics-based diagnostics laboratory leased a 100,000-square-foot office building at 6600 Dumbarton Circle, the San Jose Mercury News reported. Its former lab was 31,200 square feet.
The owner of the property and terms of the lease were not disclosed.
Personalis took the space because it will have much more space for labs, operations, research and process development, according to a representative for the company.
The company, founded in 2011 as a Stanford University spinout, provides software analytics and genome sequencing to help drug companies develop cancer treatments tailored for individual patients.
The state-of-the-art facility that Personalis leased is one of the largest genome-sequencing laboratories in the world, according to the company.
A search of public records by The Real Deal indicates the property owner as NJJ Real Estate California, based in Fremont.
Personalis signed a 13-year lease for the office and research building, which includes an indoor/outdoor cafeteria and exercise areas. The long lease will provide Personalis with the location stability it needs to meet regulatory requirements.
The company, traded on the Nasdaq since 2020, has raised $215 million in investor funding, including a $33 million Series C funding round in 2015 and a $150 million post-IPO equity round in January 2021, according to Crunchbase.
