Newmark has named a broker in the Silicon Valley to lead its Northwest regional operations, including the Portland and Seattle Markets.
Jon Mackey’s new managerial territory encompasses nearly 900 employees in 13 offices, the Silicon Valley Business Journal reported.
The Newark veteran will continue to work from the brokerage’s office in San Jose and ply his advisory services for clients in the Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula.
Mackey has developed specialties in the research-and-development as well as office sectors. He also served as the market leader for the firm’s San Jose office.
Prior to his real estate career, Mackey was on the startup teams for four venture-backed companies, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He was listed as one of a handful of real estate professionals on the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s most recent Power 100 list.
Newmark expanded its executive expertise on the West Coast over the summer with the hiring of Christina Clark. She was appointed vice chair of the firm’s San Francisco office. Clark previously worked with Cresa as a tenant rep.
About the same time, Bill Fishel, the co-head of JLL’s capital markets practice in Los Angeles, jumped to Newmark, calling his new brokerage a “dream team.”
