The Real Deal recently caught up with Orlando Rodriguez, Director at Whitehall Interiors, to discuss the firm’s work on The Rockwell’s modern kitchens. Whitehall tapped BSH to help with the appliances at The Rockwell, and the line of Thermador products that BSH’s builder team selected made these kitchens a chef’s dream. In fact, Rodriguez, who is an avid cook, expressed his desire for residents to enjoy cooking as much as he does. He mentioned, “We like providing these capabilities.”
Developed by Toll Brothers City Living, The Rockwell is a collection of luxury condos blending classic Upper West Side style with contemporary features and cutting-edge appliances and technology. Designed by Hill West Architects and named after the renowned painter Norman Rockwell, who was born on the same block in 1894, The Rockwell boasts a brick and bronze aesthetic that exudes elegance, perfectly complementing its proximity to Riverside Park. Whitehall drew inspiration from this style when designing the building’s interiors. Rodriguez stated, “The lobby of The Rockwell is an extension of the exterior,” and highlighted how Whitehall incorporated similar metals, tones, and architectural elements to capture the spirit of the exterior within the lobby.
The kitchens at The Rockwell showcase custom Poliform cabinetry with brushed nickel accents and elegant Luce de Luna quartzite countertops and backsplashes, creating a bright and inviting cooking space suitable for all meal preparations. Whitehall collaborated with BSH and opted for Thermador appliances, emphasizing their exceptional customer service, quick responses, and rigorous quality control. Rodriguez concluded by saying, “Our partnership with BSH and Thermador is truly special.”
