Santa Monica, elevated: Related sets new standard for SoCal luxury with lifestyle amenities, Thermador appliances

Behind the scenes at 700 Broadway

Today’s luxury buyer isn’t just looking for fancy finishes and great views; they’re expecting a residence that facilitates their lifestyle.

In our latest Developer Diary, TRD visited 700 Broadway and sat down with Related California’s Peter Garofalo to learn how the developer created an exclusive luxury residential experience in one of SoCal’s most desirable submarkets.

“The ideal resident for 700 Broadway is someone who wants to have it all in a wonderfully designed and luxurious setting,” said Garofalo. “Every space has been perfectly designed to keep a balance between the beachside ease and the city’s bustling energy.”

With nearly 70,000 square feet of curated amenity space both inside and outside, 700 Broadway leads with its resident experience. The three-building development, two clad in brick and the third undulating with glass and metal, surround a private courtyard that spans nearly three-quarters of an acre, creating an oasis for residents. Combined with a rooftop featuring a pair of pools, hot tubs, sauna barrels and BBQ pits, 700 Broadway contains an entire outdoor recreation resort on its compact lot.

Inside, residents enjoy access to The Reserve, an intimate indoor space featuring a Speakeasy-style bar and a host of indoor recreational activities.

“By using natural and handmade materials, we created spaces that are both elegant and inviting,” said Garofalo. “All of this combines to create a building that is uniquely of Los Angeles: luxurious yet laid back, relaxed and always close to nature.”

Of course, this design philosophy extended to the residences themselves, and the Related California team selected Bosch and Thermador appliances as a pledge to buyers that the rest of the building will meet the same high design, construction and usability standards set by these brands.

While the project is a rental apartment building, “700 Broadway is meant to feel like a high end condominium, which is why we loved bringing Thermador appliances into this project,” said Garofalo. “I love the way they integrate with our kitchens.”
