Whether they’re building in Brooklyn or Buckhead, luxury resi developers trust certain brands to elevate and future proof their kitchens.

Sophisticated buyers are familiar with the sleek aesthetic, unparalleled build quality, environmentally conscious design and future-proof tech that comes with the Thermador name. TRD sat down with three luxury resi devs who relied on Thermador appliances as the distinguishing factor in their latest projects.

A Beauty in Buckhead

The Kolter Group LLC’s second Atlanta project, The Dillon, is taking Buckhead resi to new heights.

“This building is top of the market in terms of what’s available as a new product right now,” says Kolter’s Aaron Taulbee. “Thermador is a luxury brand that both aligns with our buyer’s expectations on quality and meets the design aesthetic of the modern kitchen that we are providing here.”

Kolter is offering buyers a variety of designer-coordinated kitchen finish packages for their homes at The Dillon, and the stainless steel exteriors of Thermador appliances fit perfectly into each of these designs. Taulbee emphasizes the “clean look” of Thermador appliances and mentions how they work very well “against the flush cabinetry adjacent to them.”

Of course, Taulbee’s team was interested in more than just contemporary design when looking for the right appliances. Buyers at The Dillon expect their appliances to not only work today, but to keep working into the future, which is where Thermador’s integrated and future-proof tech came in.

“Many of our buyers have multiple homes,” explains Taulbee, “so having the confidence that their appliances will operate well in the long term provides them with a comfort that simplifies their lives.”

Owners are able to use their phone to check the contents of a WiFi-enabled Thermador refrigerator via internal cameras before arriving at their Dillon home. While this may seem like a small feature, it’s the kind of detail that means a lot when it comes to elevating a building like The Dillon above the rest.

“Thermador is just very forward thinking,” says Taulbee. “Our buyers that are more sophisticated have really shown an appreciation for that.”

Ultra-Luxe on the UES

The Torkian Group had a very specific market in mind when developing The Delecor, their latest luxury resi rental project at 250 East 83rd. Designed for families with an emphasis on living spaces that are both beautiful and functional, these parkview homes are centered around their spacious and sophisticated kitchens.

“It’s an Art Deco-style inspired building, but the inside is contemporary with touches of traditional elements that bring warmth to the interiors,” says Torkian Group Principal Ariel Torkian. “It’s a family-style building, so we really wanted to put an emphasis on the kitchens.”

Because The Delecor is one of the last buildings in NYC to feature gas, Torkian was able to select the hardware for the gas cooking knobs to match the rest of the interior aesthetic. Other choices, like including a wine cooler in each home as well as a speed and traditional oven, were made to put family cooking front and center. The WiFi connectivity that Thermador brings to the table was another defining factor for Torkian, who wanted to provide every convenience to residents at The Delecor.

The penthouse collection consisting of two duplexes with large terraces as well as seven other penthouse units will be appointed with Gaggenau appliances. Paired with 25,000 square feet of amenities including a full size swimming pool, movie theater and rooftop lounge with a private dining room, The Delecor will bring a new sense of luxury to the rental market.

Leasing has commenced and occupancy is slated for Oct. 1 2024, you can contact info@thedelecor.com for inquiries and tours.

Bespoke in Brooklyn

No word better describes the design at Avdoo & Partners Development’s Bergen Condominiums in Brooklyn better than “meticulous.” The building features architecture by Taller Frida Escobedo, interiors by Workstead, and comprehensive master planning & landscape design by DXA Studio & Patrick Cullina, all of which come together to create a carefully-considered contextual masterpiece.

This attention to every facet of design is reflected in Bergen’s wood-paneled kitchens, which feature “custom and handcrafted design elements that include white oak handles in the kitchen and custom lighting fixtures,” says Shlomi Avdoo. “The proven quality of Thermador appliances ensure that the kitchens will stand the test of time.”

Like with The Dillon, Bergen’s clientele expects elevated and sophisticated choices throughout the homes, and the Thermador brand’s reputation precedes it. For Avdoo, Thermador was the natural choice for the bespoke homes at Bergen.

“Our partnership with Thermador gives us the ability to incorporate these incredible appliances that buyers love and really respond well to,” he says.
