Watch: Go inside DUMBO’s most exciting new development

What goes into creating DUMBO’s priciest building? History, luxury, and a lot of thought, according to the partners who made it happen.

The Real Deal’s Brand Studio went inside the Olympia DUMBO for a tour with Casey Drake, VP of Sales and Marketing at Fortis Property Group, and Adam Rauenzahn from Gaggenau, the building’s appliance partner.

The building at 60 Front Street, designed by Hill West Architects with interiors by Workstead, has become one of the most exclusive enclaves in the high-end area. Its 76 residences arc over the neighborhood in a series of gradual setbacks meant to evoke a sail–and DUMBO’s maritime history. “Our goal was to create a building that felt both contextual and authentic,” Drake explained.

Warmly designed interiors with enormous windows and ship-like timber create a uniquely comfortable living experience for future residents. Beautifully high ceilings and a package of unimpeachable appliances from Gaggenau perfect the inside. Meanwhile the building’s outdoor spaces include balconies that look from the Brooklyn to the Manhattan Bridge, with some of the world’s most iconic skyscrapers creating a tableau in between.

As Drake toured TRD’s Brand Studio team through the property, he pointed out the thoughtful touches and explained how the development team worked together with architects, suppliers, designers, and more to make the space perfect.

With the limited number of residences spread out across the sizable development–which also has access to more than 38,000 feet of amenities–it’s easy to see why the building has already appealed to some of New York’s choosiest buyers. Drake credited the intentional design and the team’s many partners with coming together to create ideal spaces for some of the world’s most enterprising buyers.

Closings are already underway in the building, with one of two penthouses already off the market. (Penthouse B, still available, provides a view to rival those at Billionaire’s Row.) With residents preparing to move in, the building had a quiet hum, hinting at the vibrant community soon to come.
