TRD’s Seth Rogin stopped by The Home Depot Pro booth at the Miami Forum to learn how the leading home improvement brand serves building professionals as well as consumers.
“The Home Depot is one of one when it comes to the ability to service the entire project from start to finish,” explained Gregg Argall, Senior Director at The Home Depot. “Our stores are the reason we’re here, but we have a lot of capabilities beyond the store that can really help this customer base.”
Known primarily as a consumer brand, The Home Depot launched its Pro division to help developers and larger contractors streamline their material needs. Instead of working with “dozens and dozens” of vendors on a single project, The Home Depot Pro gives builders a single point of contact for all of their materials.
“With highrise condos, you’ve got the design phase, you’ve got preconstruction, you’ve got budgeting, and of course you’ve got the construction side of it,” said Argall. “We can play in all of that with the capabilities that we’ve been building out over the last couple of years.”
Alongside The Home Depot Pro lives HD Supply, which takes over once a project has been delivered and ensures continuity when it comes to building management, maintenance and repairs. It’s a holistic, single-source ecosystem designed from the group up to leverage The Home Depot’s national footprint to deliver robust support from preconstruction to long after move-ins are complete.
