Inside the World of No-Limit Luxury: Andrea D’Alessio and The Inspirata Group Builds the Impossible for Billionaires

Andrea D’Alessio Jr.

The Inspirata Group makes the impossible possible.

Founded by Andrea D’Alessio Jr., the firm has been transforming Miami’s luxury landscape since 2018 with projects that leave even the city’s wealthiest clients in awe. TRD sat down with the team to explore their stunning portfolio and their relentless, no-compromise approach to construction.

From Bucks County to Biscayne Bay

D’Alessio Jr. began his career in 1997 alongside his father, an Italian immigrant now 85 years old, when the two founded D’Alessio & Son Masonry in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He quickly broadened his expertise, evolving from hands-on craftsmanship to include owner representation, construction management and full project execution.

By 2014, his international award-winning company D’Alessio Inspired Architectural Designs had relocated to New York. There, he began working on major projects in New York City and Long Island, including a penthouse at The Baccarat Residences in Manhattan and a 30,000-square-foot renovation of an historic Long Island Cotswold-style mansion (the 1929, Roger Bullard-designed estate, known as “The Hameau,” was originally owned by J.P. Morgan & Co. partner Henry Upham Harris).

Three years later, D’Alessio founded The Inspirata Group, uniting owner’s representation and construction under one roof. In 2018, he followed his ultra-high-net-worth clients to Miami, launching with the construction management of an 11,000-square-foot waterfront mansion in Miami Beach and a 9,000-square-foot oceanfront renovation.

“My first Miami client was a longtime New York client—we had worked together for 10 years,” he says. “They brought us here because they wanted us to design and manage the construction of their estates and waterfront properties.”

The Inspirata Group makes history at the Irving Collins House in Miami Beach

One of The Inspirata Group’s most audacious projects—a $100 million endeavor—perfectly captures the firm’s “anything’s possible” ethos.

In a feat of engineering and vision, the team sliced the historic 1920s Collins Estate owned by Irving A. Collins, the son of Miami Beach founder John S. Collins, in two and transported it from its original Indian Creek location to the front of the property, where it will become a striking 12,000 square foot gatehouse.

“We ended up moving a two-million-pound house,” says D’Alessio. “It’s a 12,000 square foot gatehouse with a drive through Porte Cohere leading to another 35,000 square foot ultra-modern mansion on the water. The two other properties were adjoined.

When completed, the property will feature over 55,000 square feet of buildings, a residential sports complex, and a healing spa on 4.5 acres with 900 feet of water frontage and four yacht docks—all realized from D’Alessio’s original design and early contributions.

Equally impressive is the firm’s renovation of the property’s boathouse.

“It’s probably one of the only boathouses in Miami Beach where you can pull in and walk directly into your residence—almost like something you’d see on Lake Como,” says D’Alessio, who later married on Lake Como. “Everyone was saying to tear it down, that it couldn’t be saved.”

But the Inspirata Group, along with D’Alessio’s other company, Scalaa Architects, did just that. “We saved and restored what everyone else thought was impossible,” said D’Alessio. “The Inspirata Group and Scalaa Architects worked closely with the City of Miami Beach and the Miami Beach Historic Board. They salvaged the foundation and outer walls, then rebuilt it as a replica of what stood there in the early 1900’s.

Redefining quality in a world gone “custom”

Inspirata is a construction company and owner’s representative that redefined the word quality in a world where “custom” had lost its meaning.

The Inspirata Group self-performs construction with its in-house team of carpenters and millwork specialists from across the U.S—drawn from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Europe.“Even the hidden rough framing and structural work inside the walls rival the finest craftsmanship, surpassing the precision of top-tier cabinet installers,” says D’Alessio.

Forget custom; The Inspirata Group builds the impossible

The Inspirata Group has earned a reputation for turning billionaires’ unthinkable visions into reality.

A Miami client presented D’Alessio and his team with a monumental challenge: to create a 35-foot statue of herself as Mother Earth—yes, 3.5 stories tall. The process began with the client getting two 3D scan poses, ensuring every detail of her likeness was perfect.

Now being completed in Italy, the monumental statue continues to evolve from D’Alessio’s original design. While his studio’s active role transitioned after the design and development stages and partial construction stages, the influence of his team’s craftsmanship is unmistakable in the intricate facial and hair details captured during their Milano visit.

Mastering the Human Side of Construction

Construction is the easy part. The real challenge? Guiding clients who don’t want to make thousands of decisions while running billion-dollar businesses. They don’t have the time and are in fear because this is not their thing—spending tens of millions and afraid they might make a mistake after all that. Andrea D’Alessio thrives in that space. He doesn’t hesitate to give his opinion, no matter who the client is or what they own—because every residence he touches is treated like his own.

Handling texts in the middle of the night, calls on holidays, vacations, even dinner with the family, he’s there to lighten clients’ mental load when they choose the time, so they can focus on what they do best. These ultra-high-net-worth clients spend their days putting out fires and solving problems before they happen, and Andrea’s role is to do the same for their project. D’Alessio says,“That validation isn’t needed; they see the results, and that’s what I’m paid for.”

“I don’t care about the billions—they’ve earned that by killing themselves. But the fact they can go all out and build something insane—that’s what makes me obsessed.”

Anthony Iannuzzi Chief Construction Officer (CCO)

To achieve the seemingly impossible, D’Alessio has spent the last two decades building a powerhouse team. At its core is Chief Construction Officer (CCO) Anthony Iannuzzi, who joined the firm over a decade ago and quickly became an essential force behind its success.

“The way we communicate with each other is very unorthodox, to be honest,” says Iannuzzi. “We’re very intense and harsh with one another. It’s constant communication—I talk to him more than I talk to my own family. But that’s what it takes to deliver projects of this magnitude for some of the most successful people in the world.”

Since relocating seven years ago from New York, Inspirata has become a go-to for billionaire homeowners around South Florida.

“Our first project down here was $26 million,” he says. “Now we’re over $100 million.”
