A Houston penthouse is the city’s second-most expensive home sale this year.
The property had been on and off the market since 2020 with a price tag of $7.99 million and was last listed for $6.9 million. It appears to have been under contract since late January, according to Zillow records.
The 9,500-square-foot penthouse is in the city’s 28-story Astoria Highrise on Post Oak Boulevard. It’s a six-bedroom, six-bathroom unit with skyline views of downtown Houston, including the shiny Williams Tower.
The property was listed by Nancy Almodovar. She was also the listing agent for the most expensive sale this year, of a 21,500-square-foot River Oaks Boulevard mansion, for $16 million. Almodovar’s Nan and Company Properties is a Houston-based luxury real estate firm which operates under an exclusive partnership with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, and Christie’s International Real Estate.
“The luxury market in Houston is on fire,” said Nancy Almodovar, CEO of Nan and Company Properties. “While Texas is topping news headlines as one of the number one states people are moving to, the demand we are seeing is being fueled from both local and out of town buyers alike.”
Almodovar was named in the Texas Business Journal’s Texas 100 list: Influential Texans to Know in 2022.
