If your Texas ranch doesn’t come with a “party barn” or a country club membership, what’s the point?
Offered for sale at $7.5 million, the Braun Ranch has the capacity to sleep 24 guests. It’s one of 15 ranch estates in Rough Creek Lodge and Resort, a new 11,000-plus-acre community with a private spa and golf course, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The 50-acre ranch, about two hours outside of Dallas is a gated, private property with four buildings — an owner’s house, a guest house, a casita and a “party barn.”
Rough Creek Lodge is like a country club but in the country, says Denise Edmondson, principal broker at PowerPlay Texas, who is representing the property. Most buyers interested in the properties come from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and are looking to purchase second homes where they can live like a true cowboy or cowgirl, she told the paper.
The community offers smaller ranches–called “ranchettes”– and larger estates like Braun. Currently, the Braun Ranch is the only completed, move-in-ready property available, said Edmondson.

Texas may be known for its ranches, but a resort-style ranch is a relatively new phenomenon in the lone star state. Braun further differs from the typical Texas ranch in that the owners don’t have to worry about upkeep.
“The resort property takes care of everything for you,” she said. “It takes care of your landscaping, your maintenance, your house cleaning.”
The owner’s house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one half-bathroom. The guest house has a primary suite and two guest rooms. The casita is a one-bedroom building with a sitting area and a kitchenette. All three will be sold fully furnished.
The party barn is suited for storing boats and cars, but is fully heated and cooled in case the future owners want to use it as the name implies.
