San Antonio Spurs forward Doug McDermott bought a Terrell Hills home that once belonged to President Lyndon B. Johnson’s grandson.

The four-bedroom, 4,127-square-foot Mediterranean-style house was listed for about $1.89 million, according to the San Antonio Express News. The home, which he purchased in August, includes a game area on the second floor, smart house technology, high-end lighting and a primary bedroom suite with a walk-in rain shower.

Built in 2002, the house sits on a 0.31-acre property with a pool and an outdoor kitchen. From then until 2016, it was owned by the grandson of former President Lyndon B. Johnson, Patrick Lyndon Nugent, and his then-wife, Nicole.

“The location is amazing, and it’s a newer home,” said real estate agent Matthew Resnick of Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty, who represented the sellers and not McDermott. “It’s on a corner lot and has mature trees, and it has a really great floor plan with an apartment above the garage. It has very nice privacy. All technology was state of the art, with full automation. It’s a really spectacular property.”

“His house did have high ceilings and tall doorways,” Resnick told the Express News when asked if the 6’7” basketball player needed any accommodations.

McDermott, who turned 30 in January, joined the Spurs in August 2021 in a sign-and-trade deal paying him a reported $42 million over three years. McDermott made five 3-pointers in the Spurs’ 131-106 win over Houston in February, bringing his career total to 702.

The Creighton University alum and three-time consensus first-team All-American began his NBA career with the Chicago Bulls in 2014. Since 2017, he’s played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Indiana Pacers.

Katie Tottenham, who represented McDermott in the purchase, did not respond to the Express News’ requests for comment.
