Coming up: 750 South Austin apartments
OHT Partners to build two giant multifamily communities
Texas’ housing-strapped capital city is getting a 750-unit multifamily development to help ease the burden of its skyrocketing growth. Austin multifamily development, construction and investment firm OHT Partners — formerly Oden Hughes — is building two new apartment complexes on a 37-acre site near South First Street.
The first of the developments to break ground is Lenox Woods at 10801 Wayne Riddell Loop, which will have a mix of one- and two-bedrooms totaling 402 units. Planned community amenities include two pools, pickleball courts, a work studio, a fitness center, electric vehicle charging stations and a dog park. It’s scheduled to open in 2023.
OHT will build a second, 348-unit apartment complex nearby in 2024. The two planned communities will have a combined 7.5 acres of shaded parkland and will be encircled by a mile-long trail. They’ll be near South Park Meadows, Austin’s second largest retail
Center, and recent projects that have been redeveloped on former light-industrial sites, including the Yard and the St. Elmo Public Market.
OHT will build and develop both projects. Meeks and Partners is the architect on the projects. Engineers are WGI, MEP Delta Design and CPH Engineering. The landscape architect is Blu Fish Collaborative, and Wayfinder Real Estate is the interior designer.
OHT Partners focuses on Class A properties in the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston
and San Antonio markets.
