Century Communities bringing 750 homes to Austin suburbs
Four new subdivisions will have the city surrounded
Perhaps in revenge for all the tourists Texas sends to the Centennial State, Colorado-based Century Communities is swarming the Austin metro — with new houses.
Four new subdivisions with a total of 750 single-family homes are headed to the area, according to the company.
Only one of the new developments will be in Austin city limits: Jennings Place is planned for a location across from the 500-acre Onion Creek Metropolitan Park at Nuckolls Crossing and Vertex Boulevard, between I-35 South and Highway 183 in southeast Austin. It will have 64 single-family homes with prices starting at $400,000.
In Buda, a suburb to the south, Stallion Run is being developed at Old Lockhart Road and Mustang Mesa Drive. It will have 179 one- and two-story homes with three to five bedrooms and two to three bathrooms, measuring up to 2,413 square feet. Prices will start in the $300,000s. Moving east, to Elgin, Trinity Ranch will have 151 single-family homes with prices that start in the $300,000 range, and will also feature a pool, and a playground. The developing community is south of Highway 290 at Swenson Boulevard, near the small city’s central districts.
In the larger city of Round Rock, north of Austin, Avery Centre is slated for 395 homes, with prices that start around $400,000, and promises a pool, parks and trails. That community will be at Avery Nelson Parkway and AW Grimes Boulevard, between IH-35 and Highway 130.
Stallion Run and Trinity Ranch are scheduled to open this year. Jennings Place and Avery Centre are slated for 2023.
All of the planned communities are in the Austin metropolitan area, where the median home price in July was $515,000 and the average price was $645,000. Round Rock has seen a population boom that rivals and sometimes outpaces Austin’s over the past decade. Buda and Elgin have had more recent booms as developments are built to accommodate a general influx of residents to Central Texas — and some that have merely been priced out of Austin.
