A mid-century modernist home in Austin’s Tarrytown — one of the most expensive and exclusive neighborhoods in the capital city — has hit the market for the first time, with an asking price of $9.95 million.

Dubbed the “Tiffany of Tarrytown,” the 4,364-square-foot mansion at 2505 Pecos Street costs
$2,289 per square foot. The home was built in 1955 and sits on a corner lot in one of Austin’s oldest neighborhoods.

The seller is Keri Findley, CEO of Tacora Capital and longtime friend and former colleague of controversial venture capitalist-turned-GOP kingmaker Peter Thiel. Tacora, which invests in venture-backed companies, closed its first fund in March with a raise of $250 million, including an investment by Thiel.

Barring a near-term meltdown of the tech sector, the sale of this home will contribute to Austin’s push to outpace Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston in luxury home sales.

The Pecos Street home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a half-bath, and was renovated in 2018. The home’s primary bedroom has a private patio adjacent to the half-bath.

The sunken living area has an aphrodite granite adorned fireplace with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto an expansive yard. Outside, there’s a heated pool, spa, two cabana areas and a raised deck. The home also has a media room, plus a wet bar attached to the kitchen and a Tesla charger in the garage.

“This is the first time ever that this property has come on the market,” said Alexandria Murphy of Compass, who has the listing. She said that the large lot size and the exclusive neighborhood make it “a truly rare find.”
