A complex of medical offices is planned in Spring Branch, about 40 miles north of San Antonio.
Austin developer and contractor Mitch Moore plans to build the four-building medical complex at 18830 Forty Six Parkway, west of Canyon Lake, the San Antonio Business Journal reported. Moore plans to break ground on the project in the beginning of December and complete the project by June.

The 13,300-square-foot project will cost about $1.8 million, financed with a construction loan. Moore bought the land for an undisclosed amount in 2021.

Half of the space is already leased, Moore said. Powers Goolsby Architects is designing the project.

In central San Antonio’s Alamo Heights, Big Sky Medical bought the 38,370-square-foot office building, Alamo Quarry Center, along Highway 281, earlier this month. The terms of that deal were not disclosed, but Big Sky borrowed about $192 million from BMO Harris Bank, county records show. The property at 250 East Basse Road was appraised for tax purposes this year at over $12 million. The building’s medical tenants include emergency services, women’s health, pain management and eating disorder treatment.

Meanwhile in Houston, a project dubbed TMC BioPort is expected to double the overall size of the Texas Medical Center. The planned 500-acre biomanufacturing and medical supplies distribution center is “the last missing piece to this largest life science ecosystem in the country,” according to TMC CEO Bill McKeon.

North of Dallas, Caddis Healthcare Real Estate, whose portfolio includes over $1 billion in acquisitions and developments across the Lone Star State, is set to build a three-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office in Frisco for $12 million. That project will start construction at the beginning of next year and is expected to be finished in early 2024.
