A San Antonio developer is brewing up a scene near the city’s downtown.

Hixon Properties’ Make Ready Market on Broadway, in the River North neighborhood, is adding a food hall, the San Antonio Business Journal reported. The planned “culinary destination” is set to open next spring.

This foodie feature will be on the same block as Make Ready Market’s the Soto office building at 711 Broadway, in one of two historic buildings that are being repurposed.

The Make Ready Market’s name came from the property’s historic use. As part of the Cavender Cadillac dealership, it was where dealers would finish cleaning and polishing cars to be “made ready” for customers.

The food hall’s tenants will include Mexican street-food store Chilaquil & El Diente de Oro, Tiny Pies bakery, Venezuelan restaurant Four Brothers and Orderup, which offers burgers, fries and shakes.

Chef Zach Garza has also agreed to open a new beer and wine bar in the development.

Pouring with Heart, a Los Angeles-based company that owns craft beer and spirits businesses in Texas, California and Colorado, will also build a brewery and bar on a site along Brooklyn Avenue, near Broadway.

“We hope to create a gathering place that unites folks through fresh-made beer and cocktails, and we are eager to connect with the neighborhood,” Peter Stanislaus, with Pouring with Heart, told the outlet.
