  • Newmark hired Jack Fraker as president and global head of industrial and logistics. Based in Dallas, Fraker worked at CBRE for nearly two decades and has been a top national producer of industrial investment sales over his 35-year career, according to a news release.
  • A renewable energy company has leased a full floor in a new Houston office building, the Houston Business Journal reported. New York-based Rev Renewables plans to open its largest office, with 40 employees, in BKR Memorial’s Buffalo Heights, at 3663 Washington Avenue, the outlet reported.
  • A Texas-based human resources and payroll services company plans to occupy 37,000 square feet in the Cypress Waters development, the Dallas Morning News reported. Insperity Services, which is based in the Houston suburb Kingwood and has offices in Irving and Far North Dallas, signed the lease at 3300 Olympus Boulevard in Coppell, with plans to move this summer.

  • A brokerage from Colorado is putting down roots in Texas. Denver-based Modus Real Estate, which mostly deals in residential, plans to open an office in Austin next month, the Austin Business Journal reported. The firm also has an infill housing development arm, GM Development, which stepped into its first Texas development, in McKinney, this year, the outlet reported. 
  • A Massachusetts-based real estate private equity firm is locating its “HQ2” in Austin, the Austin Business Journal reported. Northland plans to open an office for 20 employees at the Domain Place office building at 3200 Gracie Kiltz Lane. The square footage wasn’t reported.
  • International architecture firm Arkadis has leased a 17,000-square-foot office at 300 Pearl, a new 20-story building near the Dallas Farmers Market, the Dallas Morning News reported. The firm, based in the Netherlands, owns CallistonRTKL, which has leased 60,000 square feet at 1717 Pacific for more than a decade, the outlet reported.
  • California-based investment firm GI Partners has taken an 11,000-square-foot lease in Dallas, the Dallas Morning News reported. The San Francisco-based firm already has an office in the Turtle Creek area of Dallas and is relocating its local operation to the historic Maple Terrace building at 3001 Maple Avenue, the outlet reported.
  • An artificial intelligence firm is moving its headquarters from San Francisco to a suburb of Dallas, the Dallas Morning News reported. Ibenta Holdings leased a 5,000-square-foot office at One Bethany West, an eight-story building at 950 West Bethany Drive in Allen.
  • Mortgage brokers in Texas and Illinois have merged in an effort to weather an interest-rate fueled storm on the horizon, the Dallas Morning News reported. Dallas-based Town Square Mortgage, which has 94 loan originators, and American Portfolio Mortgage, which has 108 originators, will retain their individual names, branding and leadership, the outlet reported.
