Construction is underway for a master-planned “wellness” community in the Houston area.
Johnson Development is at the helm of the project in Hockley. Called Jubilee, it’s slated for 4,900 homes, nearly 30 acres of parks and amenity space and over 270 acres of greenspace and waterways on a 1,600-acre tract, just south of Highway 290 and a few miles from the Grand Parkway, the Houston Business Journal reported.
The first phase of Jubilee will include 491 homesites, with eight models, and lot sizes ranging from 40 to 60 feet. The company plans to announce builders and pricing in the near future, and sales should begin next year, the outlet said.
“From the street layout and amenities to the home offerings and lifestyle programming — every aspect will be dedicated to nurturing our residents’ overall well-being. Our mission is to profoundly enhance the lives of individuals who live there,” said June Tang, vice president and general manager of Jubilee.
Johnson Development acquired the land, previously owned by Houston-based Rockspring, in 2017. It filed preliminary plans with the city in October 2020.
Johnson Development has developed 19 communities totalling 47,500 acres, 15 of which are in the Houston area. The firm is partnering with Plow Realty to build a master-planned community with 2,800 homes in Katy.
Johnson Development’s Cross Creek Ranch, Woodforest and Sienna were among the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities in 2022, the outlet said.
