Partners Real Estate plans to expand across Texas and hired an executive to lead the charge.

Peter Mainguy is Partners’ new executive managing director for its services business in Texas, according to a release from the firm. Partners’ service line includes its brokerage, property management, valuation and project management offerings. He’ll be based at the firm’s Houston headquarters. Mainguy is also joining the firm as an equity partner.

In his role, Mainguy will work closely with John O’Neill, a former Cushman & Wakefield executive who leads the Southeast region for Partners, according to the release.

Mainguy is joining Partners after nearly a decade at CBRE, where he was the senior managing director of the firm’s Houston and Louisiana markets. Prior to working at CBRE, he was head of global real estate at Sysco Corporation and managed the company’s 46 million-square-foot portfolio in North America, Europe and Asia. Mainguy’s recent stint at CBRE was his second, according to LinkedIn; he was vice president of brokerage services for five years before joining Sysco.

Mainguy’s hire reflects Partners’ effort to expand across the Lone Star State and cement its presence on the national stage, according to the release.

The leadership pick comes a few months after Partners poached a high-profile Houston office leasing team from Cushman & Wakefield. In March, the firm brought on Chip Colvill, Michael Anderson, Win Haggard and Damon Thames as equity partners. Brad Beasley, Diana Bridger and Connor Saxe joined as senior vice presidents. Colvill, who heads the team, founded Colvill Office Properties; Cushman & Wakefield acquired his firm in 2020.

Partners is a privately-owned commercial real estate company that was founded in 1997. It operates across the Sun Belt, with offices in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Atlanta. In addition to its services business, Partners has an investments arm and a development arm. It has developed a handful of industrial, retail, and office properties throughout the Texas Triangle.
