The new year is bringing new senior leadership to Partners Real Estate throughout Texas.

The Houston-based commercial real estate firm said Thursday that it hired three senior leaders for the firm’s Austin office, and said Friday that it hired JJ Leonard as managing director of its Dallas office, according to news releases from the company.

Leonard also joined the Dallas office as an equity partner, moving from Stream Realty Partners where he served since 2015. Rye Hinkle was hired for the Austin office as a senior vice president, and Bryan McMurrey was hired as an equity partner. Both joined from Transwestern. Chris Price was hired on from Austin Commercial Advisors as a senior vice president, as well.

The new hires follow Partners’ hiring of Peter Mainguy as executive managing director for services business in Texas, based at the firm’s Houston headquarters. He also joined the firm as an equity partner. Mainguy previously headed CBRE’s Houston office.

Leonard arrives with more than two decades in office leasing, having represented some of the largest institutional owners in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to the release. At Stream, Leonard helped double the firm’s Dallas-Fort Worth office leasing portfolio from 8 million square feet to more than 16 million square feet between 2015 and 2022, the release says.

McMurrey brings more than 25 years of experience focused on multifamily and retail brokerage, advising private and institutional clients on acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. His background spans landlord and tenant representation, investment sales and project leasing, with stops at Republic Commercial Properties, NAI and Trammell Crow Company/CBRE, according to the release.

Hinkle, who joined Transwestern’s Central Texas team in 2018, specializes in multifamily investment sales and land brokerage across Austin, San Antonio and the broader Central Texas region. He advises on apartment dispositions and represents landowners and developers in commercial land deals tied to development and redevelopment.

Price will focus on office tenant representation, bringing more than 14 years of experience advising tenants, landlords and investors across office, retail and industrial assets, the release shows.

Partners was founded in 1997 as a privately-owned commercial real estate company and operates across the Sun Belt, with offices in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Atlanta.

In addition to its services business, Partners also has an investments arm and a development arm, having developed a handful of industrial, retail and office properties throughout Texas.
