Houston mansion asking $14M heads to auction

Friar Tuck Lane estate’s price was cut from $20 million last June

603 West Friar Tuck Lane in Houston

With an asking price of $14 million, a Houston mansion just became the most expensive home up for auction in Texas.

Concierge Auctions, a luxury residential auction company owned by Sotheby’s, began marketing the home at 603 West Friar Tuck Lane in Houston on Thursday. Initially listed by physicians Richard Andrassy and Mary Shinn last June for $20 million, the home is now listed for $14 million, about $1,140 per square foot. That’s the highest asking price for a home awaiting auction in Texas, according to Zillow.

The 12,230-square-foot Mediterranean home occupies 2.1 acres in the Sherwood Forest area of Houston. The house has four fireplaces, a five-car garage, a gym and an elevator, along with five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, according to the listing.

The sellers have owned the property since 1995, and the home was built in 1998, according to public records.

The Sherwood Forest enclave, which surrounds the portion of Memorial Drive intersected by Little John Lane and Friar Tuck Lane between I-10 and Buffalo Bayou, often sees some of Houston’s priciest residential sales.

A new 9,000-square-foot home at 813 West Friar Tuck Lane sold with an asking price of $10 million last year, tying for fifth place among Houston’s most expensive home sales of 2025. The year before, the 17,200-square-foot home at 333 West Friar Tuck Lane sold after asking $14.8 million, ranking seventh among the priciest sales of 2024. And in 2022, Mario Williams, a star player for the Texans, asked $8 million for a 12,900-square-foot home at 701 West Friar Tuck that sold in September.

The most expensive home that traded in Houston in December sold at auction. Formerly owned by NBA All-Star Nick Van Exel, the estate at 3102 Noble Lakes Lane, once featured on MTV’s “Cribs,” asked $9.9 million at the time.

Recent Concierge auctions include the former home of YouTube streamer Nathan Milner, who listed his Magnolia home for $3.6 million and sold it for $2.8 million.

Concierge will start accepting bids on May 13. Bidding ends on May 27, culminating in a live auction in London, according to a Concierge auction specialist.
