Hospitality options at Firefly Park, the 217-acre mixed-use district by Fort Worth-based Wilks Development, will include a family-owned boutique hotel.

Wilks Development plans to bring a five-story, 170-key hotel to Firefly Park, the Dallas Morning News reported. Hotel Voeux has an estimated construction cost of $50 million, amounting to about $294,000 per room. It will include a three-meal restaurant, two bars and a four-story parking garage. Construction will begin this July and end by May 2028, Wilks Development CEO Kyle Wilks told the outlet.

The French-Texas fusion brand is independently owned by the Wilks family office, the outlet reported. Its address will be 16300 Brixley Boulevard, one of three main roads that will branch southward from Breezeway Boulevard, which generally bisects the development, the plat shows.

The 217-acre development spreads between the Dallas North Tollway and Mahard Parkway just south of U.S. Highway 380. The southernmost portion of the development reaches PGA Parkway, and it’s about two miles east of PGA of America’s headquarters and resort.

Anchored by a 45-acre park, the development will include 3 million square feet of office space, 400,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, 1,200 hotel rooms, 230 townhomes and 1,970 apartments, the outlet reported. An amphitheater and a wedding chapel have also been reported in the development plans. The total cost of the project, begun in 2015, could reach $4 billion.

The project cleared a hurdle earlier this year when the City of Frisco temporarily blocked work and asked Wilks to revise its site plans. The first buildings to go vertical on the site will include a 187-unit multifamily complex, 124,000 square feet of office space and the chapel.

The Hotel Voeux announcement follows earlier plans to add a Dream Hotel with about 200 rooms. The Dream Hotel is also part of the first phase of construction, and it’s racing with another project on McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas to be the first Dream Hotel in Texas.
