Craig International landed the bid to redevelop the former Globe Life Corporate Headquarters in McKinney, a Dallas suburb.
The 58-acre former headquarters is located at 3700 South Stonebridge Drive. McKinney-based Craig plans to rebrand the space as “Rowlett Station” and implement a mixed-use redevelopment. Initial plans are for redevelopment to come in waves that could exceed $200 million, according to a press release from the company.
Rowlett Station will connect Stonebridge Drive and Eldorado Parkway with hike-and-bike trails, promote connectivity to adjacent retail and further engrain nearby Rowlett Creek into the lives of residents, according to the statement.
The developer said they’ve begun looking for ways to repurpose the existing 300,000-plus square feet of office space, as well as master-planning elements for the rest of the redevelopment.
“This was a rare opportunity to convert a truly irreplaceable site in one of the strongest growth markets in the country,” said David Craig, founder and CEO of Craig in the release.
McKinney Mayor Bill Cox said in the release that for decades the firm has been at the forefront in developing mixed-use campuses in the northern reaches of the DFW Metroplex.
Other developments with the firm’s fingerprints include a 189-acre mixed-use gateway to the Lake Texoma region in Denison called Preston Harbor, Craig Ranch and the McKinney Corporate Center. The Preston Harbor development alone will run $4 billion, and includes 7,000-plus residences, a marina and 9 miles of lakefront. The marina will have 400-600 boat slips, and Craig has secured tax breaks to place a JW Marriott hotel on the property.
In 2025, Globe Life listed the campus at 3700 South Stonebridge Drive and moved into a smaller, 200,000 square-foot office at 7677 Henneman Way just four miles away, also in McKinney. The company relocated around 3,000 employees to the new building by the end of the year.
