Texas’ top construction permits for the week ending June 9, 2026

New Buildings

Ranking first among the week’s costliest new construction projects, the Houston First Corporation, a local government corporation, filed plans to spend $320 million on the next stage of the city’s $1 billion project to redevelop the George R. Brown Convention Center at 1001 Avenida De Las Americas in Houston. The city plans to build out the interior and construct the exterior envelope of the multipurpose portion of the development, covering 700,000 square feet, between September 2026 and September 2028.

Ranking second, Houston-based Deiso Moss plans to spend $290 million building the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Houston, a 45-story condo and hotel tower at 2120 Post Oak Boulevard. The hotel, retail, condo and parking garage space total 979,800 square feet. Work is scheduled to begin this September and end March 2030.

Dallas-based Stonelake Capital Partners plans to spend $69.3 million on a 305-unit apartment project of about 337,500 square feet at 910 Singleton Boulevard in Dallas. This project is one of several multifamily phases of the company’s mixed-use Trinity Green development. Work will take place between December 2026 and November 2029.

Renovations

Bellevue, Washington-based Lake Washington Partners filed plans to install an automated storage retrieval system at its industrial property at 3400 East Airfield Drive in Dallas, a warehouse currently serving blank apparel supplier SanMar. Work on the $49.6 million, 268,343-square-foot project starts this July and is scheduled to end July 2027.

Boston-based STAG Industrial is in the process of adding a new shipping office and control room to a warehouse at 3400 Discovery Boulevard in Rockwall that serves Atlanta, Georgia-based manufacturer Pratt Industries. The $31 million project spans 342,975 square feet of the facility and is scheduled to proceed from May 2026 to May 2027.

Boston-based Cabot Properties plans to spend $19 million to update the DAL2 Fulfillment Center, an Amazon facility at 2601 South Airfield Drive in Irving. The 222,000-square-foot project will include installing structural reinforcement at key locations on the office and AR mezzanines.
