A primary tenant of Richardson’s Telecom Parkway corridor is sinking roots.

Canada-based data center infrastructure company Celestica signed a 10-year lease for its 600,000-square-foot manufacturing hub at 2801 Telecom Parkway, the Dallas Business Journal reported. The company also plans to expand into 343,000 square feet of office space by next year.

The company has occupied two buildings at 2801 Telecom since 2022. The complex formerly served as the North American headquarters of Japanese information technology services provider Fujitsu, which now operates as 1Finity Americas and relocated its office last year to the nearby Galatyn Commons complex at 2375 Glenville Drive in Richardson.

Fujitsu sold the office to Chicago-based Dayton Street Partners in 2022 after 33 years of ownership.

The City of Richardson approved a $3 million tenant improvement grant for Celestica, which is expected to retain about 400 existing jobs and create about 2,300 new permanent jobs over the next two years. The company plans to spend $300 million in capital investments during the same period, Richardson City Manager Don Magner told the publication.

Last month, Celestica also confirmed that it plans to establish a manufacturing site in Hillwood’s AllianceTexas development in Fort Worth, the publication reported. The city of Fort Worth approved a 10-year tax break for the project. Celestica billed the upcoming facility as an $876 million investment that would create 1,715 manufacturing, engineering and professional jobs in the next three years.

Other tenants along Telecom Parkway, which branches northeast from the President George Bush Turnpike east of its intersection with Hwy 75, include Boeing, Motorola and Collins Aerospace.

Notable recent leases in Richardson include AT&T’s 186,000-square-foot call center expansion at Lakeside Boulevard Tower last May. Property management company Associa opened its new headquarters at 2301 North Greenville in August after buying the property in 2024.
