Senior living is coming to the Grove, a master planned community in Austin.

Ryan Companies, Grand Living and Castletop Capital are building Grand Living at the Grove, about 10 miles northwest of downtown, at 45th and Bull Creek.

The 348,300-square-foot community will have 186 independent and assisted living units, along with 36 memory care apartments. Studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments will span 450 to 1,600 square feet.

Ryan is the co-developer and builder, with Castletop Capital serving as the master plan developer and Grand Living as the operator.

Grand Living at the Grove will be an “age-in-community,” which allows residents to stay in their original apartments even as their healthcare needs change with aging. And in the meantime, the Grove offers amenities like parks, cycling infrastructure and trendy restaurants.

Onsite amenities include a club, library, dining rooms, a performance theater, a spa and fitness center with a full-service salon, a pool and courtyard, therapy rooms, game rooms, a gift shop, a chapel and 180 underground parking stalls.

Grand Living at The Grove is expected to be completed by late 2024.

“Demand for senior housing will continue to grow in Austin, and there’s no better time to start building than now,” said Hunter Barrier of Ryan Companies.

Another mixed-use senior housing development was announced by Austin-based Periscope Capital and New York-based Verlot Capital in October.
