As the summer heats up, Austin’s wealthiest homebuyers are ready to play some golf.
Buyers signed 23 contracts last asking above $2 million last week, up 15 from the previous week, according to the Eklund Gomes Austin Luxury Report. The report tracks contracts for homes with asking prices of $2 million or more.
The top-priced contracts last week offered unusually easy access to the links, whether on a private course or proximity to a top club. Together, those homes last asked $71.6 million, a week-over-week increase of nearly $50 million. All were single family homes.
On average, the properties last asked $3.1 million, or $770 per square foot. They spent 68 days on the market.
The top contract was for 7849 Escala Drive, a 10,400-square-foot mansion in the foothills of Barton Creek. The property last asked $8.7 million, or $837 per square foot. With five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, it spreads out on a 7.3 acre lot. One of its most unusual features is a private, nine hole, par three golf course.
Gary Dolch of Compass had the listing.
Next on the list was 6358 Spanish Oaks Club Boulevard, located on Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Bee Cave. The 6,160-square-foot home last asked $4.5 million, or $731 per square foot. It sits on 0.73 acres. Haval Abbas of Bramlett Residential had the listing.
Rounding out the top three was 901 Wild Basin Ledge, which last asked $4.45 million. This home is surrounded by Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve and the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, so its three-acre lot feels like much more. It has five bedrooms and four bathrooms across its 3,270 square feet. Clayton Bullock of Moreland Properties had the listing.
The property has had several price cuts since it listed in March for $5.45 million.
