Netflix revealed details about its upcoming fan experience center at Galleria Dallas — and fans of “Stranger Things” and “Squid Game” may want to start planning their escape routes now.

Netflix House Dallas, a 100,000-square-foot experiential hub from the streaming giant, is slated to open by the end of the year and will be one of the first permanent locations of its kind in the U.S., the Dallas Morning News reported. Lender MetLife took over ownership of the 1.9 million-square-foot mall from UBS Realty Investors in 2022. Trademark Property Company handles leasing.

Attractions will include Stranger Things: Escape the Dark, an immersive game set in Hawkins, and Squid Game: Survive the Trials, a live-action challenge against the show’s notorious “Front Man.”

Also in the mix: themed escape and game rooms, physical competitions, retro challenges and a rotating lineup of new experiences. There will be on-site food and cocktails inspired by Netflix shows under the “Netflix Bites” label as well as a retail shop stocked with merchandise.

The Dallas site is one of two Netflix House openings scheduled this year. The other is in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, while a third is expected in Las Vegas in 2027.

All three will follow a formula, but the offerings won’t be identical. The Pennsylvania location, for example, will focus more on shows like “One Piece” and “Wednesday” and include virtual reality games.

The attraction is part of a broader shift among retailers and mall owners toward “experiential anchors” that drive foot traffic beyond traditional shopping.

Galleria Dallas, recently ranked one of the top malls in the country, already boasts a well-known skating rink and other entertainment draws. The Netflix House will open in two floors of the three-level space where Belk closed its doors in 2020 — before that, it was home to Saks Fifth Avenue.

Other major experiential projects in the Dallas area include Universal Studios’ kid-friendly theme park planned to debut in Frisco next May and the ultra-immersive Cosm venue in The Colony.

Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, described the experience as “fandom coming to life,” positioning Netflix House as a place to “play, shop and taste” the stories viewers already binge at home. Construction is still underway at the Galleria site, but early access sign-ups are live at netflixhouse.com.
