A Fort Worth home asking just under $10 million was the ninth most-expensive listing in Texas this month, according to data from the Houston Association of Realtors.

The 7,700-square foot estate at 6960 Laurel Valley Drive sits on 1.2 acres in the Mira Vista gated community, and the seller is listing it at twice its previously listed price since purchasing in 2021. The asking price is $1,292 per square foot. Donna Kyle Veale of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Real Estate has the listing.

The 2,200-square-foot covered patio makes it ideal for “someone who loves entertaining,” Veale said. It has a pool, outdoor kitchen and pergola between the main home and guesthouse, with iron fencing at the perimeter and private access to the Trinity River. The four bedrooms each have an ensuite bath. There’s a game room and media room, and recycled hardwood floors throughout.

Ultra-luxury buyers don’t have that many options in Fort Worth. The Mira Vista home is one of only 10 listings in Fort Worth over $5 million, and one of only two over $8 million. There are interested buyers in Fort Worth, Veale said. She has noticed the influx of people from out of state, but she’s “not counting on an out-of-state buyer” in this case.

“There’s plenty of people here that can buy a house like that,” she said. “It’s just the quality of the workmanship and the feature of it being in a secured gated community; it’s worth a lot to a lot of people, especially with what’s going on in the world today.”

The recent rate cut may cause home prices to rise in Dallas-Fort Worth, real estate agents have said, but Veale is expecting a cash buyer, which is typical for ultra luxury

The Mira Vista community has an 18-hole golf course, six tennis courts and country club. It has been a haven for some of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area’s wealthiest, including former RadioShack CEO Len Roberts.

The eighth most-expensive listing in Texas this month, also near $10 million, is in Dallas’ Highland Park. The most expensive in the state, a $19 million waterfront home in Henderson County, lies about 60 miles southeast of Downtown Dallas in Caney City.
