BW Energy USA Management is doing something rare in Houston’s current office market environment.

Rather than shrinking its office presence like so many companies are doing in the Bayou City, BW Energy is expanding.

After signing a new lease in June 2022 for a 23,650-square-foot office space at 945 Bunker Hill Road with MetroNational, BW Energy will head to another MetroNational office building that’s slated for completion in September 2023.

Nex year, BW Energy will move to a 68,000-square-foot office in MetroNational’s new 190,000-square-foot, 9-story Class A office building at 9753 Katy Freeway in Memorial City.

BW Energy will occupy the building’s first three floors. The firm’s new headquarters is on Memorial City’s 10 million-square-foot campus and is next to the Lawn at Memorial City and MemorialNational’s new luxury high-rise, The McKinley.

“We look forward to working with MetroNational to provide the best work environment for our employees at this modern, primely located office building,” BW Energy COO Lin Espey said in a press release.

BW Energy’s move follows a trend of major Houston companies moving to west Houston, where the office buildings are newer and closer to where the city’s population continues to grow.

Memorial City is a mixed-use development with many restaurants, retail, hotel and entertainment offerings.

Griff Bandy of the newly renamed Partners represented BW Energy in lease negotiations with Brad MacDougall and Warren Alexander of MetroNational.

The financial terms of the lease were not disclosed.
