A global chemical services company is moving its headquarters from the ’burbs to near the Houston Spaceport.
Third Coast Chemicals signed a lease at 13100 Space Center Boulevard with J.A. Billipp Co. for 22,000 square feet, where the company will relocate its headquarters from Pearland, the Houston Business Journal reported. Lease terms, for what is nearly a full floor of the six-story former Boeing building, weren’t disclosed.
Trey Martin with Partners Real Estate represented Third Coast, and JLL’s Scott Fikes represented J.A. Billipp Co.
Third Coast will consolidate about 80 employees currently spread across offices in Brazoria and Galveston counties. The company will keep its office at 1871 Mykawa Road in Pearland, for use as an operational office.
“We hate that we have to leave Brazoria County, but we had to do what we had to do for consolidation,” Third Coast President and CEO Jim Clawson Jr. told the outlet.
The building is 81 percent leased with more deals on the horizon. Billipp bought the building in June 2018 after Boeing moved to consolidate its workforce at 3700 Bay Area Boulevard.
It is adjacent to the Houston Spaceport and NASA’s Sonny Carter Buoyancy Lab, backing up to Ellington Field.
Third Coast was founded in Friendswood in 1989. The firm has offices in South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
