Nan and Company Properties is deepening its niche in The Woodlands with the addition of six agents from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene.
The Houston-based luxury brokerage, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate that is headed by founder Nancy Almodovar, hired the Kriss Weiss Team.
The team consists of Kriss Weiss, Matthew Weiss, Roger Pool, Elaine Fischer, Angela Hansen and Yvonne Jacobo. They collectively closed $25 million worth of deals in 2023, according to a news release. The team has no particular price point specialty, closing mid-range and million-dollar listings. However, team leader and namesake Kriss Weiss said she wants to make a bigger splash in the luxury market.
“You have to be the right broker and have the right name to make that transition,” she said. “Moving to another brokerage was not something that was on our radar, but when the opportunity came up and I learned about Nan and the company, this was exactly a perfect fit for us, and it’s what we’ve been looking for.”
Focusing on the mid-market, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene was ranked as Greater Houston’s No. 5 selling resi brokerage, with $833 million in sales volume between March 2022 and March 2023, according to The Real Deal’s top-selling residential brokerages of 2022. The brokerage trailed behind Greenwood King Properties, eXp Realty, Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty and Compass.
Last month, Nan and Co. also nabbed Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate agents Elise Repa and Jeni Mitchell to launch its division in The Woodlands. Weiss said her desire to continue working with her mentor Repa also motivated the team’s decision to move to Nan and Co.
The Kriss Weiss Team will join the Elmi Group. The group is temporarily working out of the 2,000-square-foot Life Time Work Shenandoah coworking space, but Almodovar has plans for a permanent office. Nan and Co. has three other locations, in the Galleria, the Heights and Galveston.
