A mansion on Houston’s priciest street just hit the market asking $20 million.
The two-story estate at 119 Carnarvon Drive is listed for $1,250 per square foot, and a sale at that price would be one of the city’s most-expensive in years, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Kellie Geitner of Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty is managing the listing on behalf of the sellers. Their identity wasn’t disclosed, but Harris County Appraisal District records show it is Dr. Stephen J. Kramer and his wife, attorney Lauren P. Kramer. The home is appraised for tax purposes at $10 million, and this is its first time on the market.
Carnarvon Drive has long been known as Houston’s most-exclusive address. Yet, the 16,000-square-foot home, custom-built in 2004, stands out even on such an iconic street.
Highlights include a second-floor ballroom, a home theater and a library with a custom fireplace. The seven-bedroom, 12-bathroom property also features meticulously landscaped grounds with an outdoor living area, pool and spa.
Inside, the home boasts high-end finishes like wide-plank hardwood floors, Venetian plaster walls and limestone tile flooring. The primary suite features dual bathrooms with imported marble, and a private courtyard.
The listing arrives at a time when high-end home sales are performing strongly. Homes priced at $1 million and above led the market last month, with sales increasing by 21 percent compared to November 2023. In contrast, overall home sales rose by just 6 percent, according to the Houston Association of Realtors.
At the peak of the spring buying season, sales of homes over $1 million rose by 34 percent. This was largely due to robust interest in areas like River Oaks and The Woodlands.Houston’s luxury segment has remained resilient, with ultra-luxury sales, those over $10 million, surging by 75 percent last year.
