Two developers based in Central Texas have partnered on a residential project in northwest San Antonio that will offer an alternative to single-family living.
Austin-based Metropolitan Development Company and San Antonio’s Agave Land & Development have partnered up for the Gabriella, a 146-unit condo complex at 10225 Braun Road, the San Antonio Express News reported. Construction on the complex is slated to begin next summer.
Situated on an 8-acre site on the outskirts of Helotes, the development aims to fill a gap in the area’s predominantly single-family housing options by providing a low-maintenance alternative for buyers.
Floor plans at the Gabriella will include one- to three-bedroom units ranging from 460 to 1,500 square feet. Condos will feature high-end finishes, including Bosch appliances and ceilings up to 11 feet high. Prices are expected to start in the low $200,000s, with HOA fees ranging from $200 to $600 monthly, according to Metropolitan Development principal Pawel Hardej.
Amenities will include a fitness center, co-working spaces, a dog wash station, and 4 acres dedicated to outdoor features like biking trails and a saltwater pool.
James Nichols, managing partner of Agave, is among those planning to call The Gabriel home when it’s completed. The project is slated for completion sometime in 2027, with the condominium’s first units set to go live 18 months after construction begins.
If the property proves to be a good fit for the area, Hardej plans to build more condo projects in the area.
For those who prefer more traditional housing options, San Antonio has no shortage of single-family homes. A key player in San Antonio’s residential construction market is Florida-based homebuilder Lennar, which pulled 61 percent of all single-family permits filed across the city in the third quarter.
