Third group joins lawsuit against $1.3B Belmont Park project

A third neighborhood group has thrown its support behind a lawsuit aimed at halting the $1.3 billion Belmont Park redevelopment on Long Island, Long Island Business News reported. The Bellerose Terrace Civic Association and six other residents of the hamlet joined the Village of Floral Park and an Elmont group’s State Supreme Court lawsuit, according to the outlet. The residents involved in the lawsuit have raised traffic, safety, environmental and other concerns about the project. The project’s developers broke ground at the end of September. [LIBN]
