East Hampton Town plans to buy 12 acres of land for $2.5 million, with plans to build affordable housing at the site, the East Hampton Star reported. The town was the only bidder at a court-ordered auction for the property off of Pantigo Road last month, according to the outlet. One of the site’s previous owners is going through a bankruptcy proceeding. “We’ve had our eye on this for a number of years,” town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc told the outlet. “We tried to purchase it a few years ago, but it’s been tied up in litigation.” [East Hampton Star]
