Greenwich luxury real estate veteran David Ogilvy has passed away at age 77, the Fairfield County Business Journal reported. Ogilvy, who founded David Ogilvy & Associates in 1985, died on Feb. 3 due to “complications from multiple myeloma,” according to the outlet. Ogilvy sold the firm to Sotheby’s International Realty last year, telling TRD he hoped the sale would allow him to refocus on his “passion”: selling real estate. “That is what I am good at. That is what I get my rewards from,” he said at the time. It was Ogilvy’s firm that broke the record for the most expensive single-family home sale in the country with the $120 million sale of Greenwich’s Copper Beech Farm back in 2014. [FBJ]
