Avenues’ East Hampton school follows NYC migration

Avenues: The World School’s new East Hampton outpost will be located at the Hampton County Day Camp with room for 60 students, according to the New York Post.

The exclusive New York-based private school announced it was opening an outpost in the Hamptons earlier this month. Annual tuition will begin at $48,000.

Well-off New Yorkers began flocking to the Hamptons in March as the coronavirus invaded the boroughs, but a school representative said plans were in motion to open a Hamptons location before that.

Margaret Wollner, who will head the Avenues school, said earlier this month that “since Covid-19,” the school has seen “increased interest from current Avenues families as well as others” considering staying in the Hamptons through the school year.
