Adrien Arpel relents, sells Southampton estate for $21M

Makeup mogul Adrien Arpel has parted ways with her Southampton estate at a discounted $21 million, according to Real Estate Weekly.

The nearly 10-acre estate has a 7,500-square-foot main home that Arpel and her late husband Ronald Newman built in 2002. Mark J. Baron with Saunders & Associates had the listing. The buyer is unknown and represented by Sotheby’s International Realty.

Arpel first listed the property in 2018 for $38 million and dropped the price to $30 million last year.

The coronavirus pandemic has fueled a seller’s market on the East End. The number of Hamptons deals in July was up 120 percent year-over-year with sales between $1 million and $10 million increasing the most.
