The 4.5-acre property at 92 Coopers Neck Lane sold for $18.2 million, a decent discount from its $23.5 million asking price. It previously listed for $37.5 million in 2015. The new owners, who were not identified, are planning to renovate the property, according to listing agent Tim Davis of Corcoran.

The 1899 home has 11 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms and spans 12,000 square feet. The Carnegie Family Trust bought the home in 1904 and sold it in 1952 to a family that held it for four decades. It was last sold in 1994 to interior designer Joanne de Guardiola and her husband Roberto. [Behind The Hedges] — Dennis Lynch
