Volkswagen executive Johan de Nysschen has listed his sleek 6,000-square-foot Hoboken townhouse for $5.25 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The property is at 113 Grand St.

A sale close to that asking price would make it one of the most expensive ever in the area. An 1854 limestone at 504 Hudson Street fetched $6.5 million in 2016, a year after a Queen Anne several blocks away sold for $4.35 million. A penthouse at 1500 Washington Street once owned by former governor Jon Corzine set a price record for Hoboken apartments in 2019 when it sold for $3.9 million.

Earlier this month, a 3,600-square-foot townhouse in the city sold for $3 million after just five days on the market. The home was once owned by newscaster Natalie Morales and her husband Joseph Rhodes.

De Nysschen and his wife purchased the 1800s townhouse in 2015 for $3.5 million and transformed it over the next three years into a thoroughly modern home inside and out. The renovation ran them about $2.5 million. [WSJ] —Dennis Lynch
