A popular Hampton Bays inn and restaurant has been sold after eight months on the market.

The Inn Spot on the Bay, a restaurant and inn on Shinnecock Bay, was sold this week, with the closing anticipated yesterday. The sale price is believed to be close to the $4 million asking price, according to Behind The Hedges.

The property is near Dune Road, filled with hugely expensive homes like the one Ziel Feldman sold earlier this year.

Owners Cheffes Colette Connor and Pam Wolfert revealed the sale in an email to customers Tuesday. They plan on continuing to operate a food truck they own, as well as a catering business.

“We would like to say thank you to all of [our] loyal customers, especially those of you who have been with us since our first restaurant,” the owners said. “It’s been over 20 years of getting to know you all and your families, and this is not an ending but a continuing relationship.”

The main building is a 117-seat restaurant, equipped with a wrap-around covered porch for more tables. There are four guest rooms at the top of the building. An additional six cottages have nine guest units.

The identity and plans of the buyer have not been revealed.
