An estate in Kinderhook, New York, that dates to just before the American Revolution hit the market.

Built in 1774 by David Van Schaack, the Georgian brick home is being listed for $3 million, according to Dirt.

The home at 24 Broad Street has direct ties to the war. British general John Burgoyne was kept there as a sort of prisoner-guest after being captured following the surrender of his forces in Saratoga in 1777.

The main house was expanded in the early 1900s and now totals 5,800 square feet with six bedrooms and three bathrooms. The grounds total 6.8 acres with lawns and wooded areas.

Today, the home is owned by antique dealers Audrey and Stuart Peckner, who bought it in 2005, renovated it, and packed it with antique furnishings. They purchased the home as a vacation getaway and moved there permanently in 2013.
