The son of billionaire Ed Ansin purchased a half-acre lot in Miami Beach for $8 million, The Real Deal has learned.

Miami neurologist Bernard S. Baumel and his wife, Carolyn Baumel, sold the 24,000-square-foot lot to Andy Ansin, a vice president at Sunbeam Properties, last week, Miami-Dade County records show. A tennis court sits on the property at 1700 West 25th Street on Sunset Island 1.

The 24,000-square-foot lot traded for more than eight times its last sale — $975,000 in February 2000.

The Baumels used to own the 7,946-square-foot home next door at 1704 West 25th Street, according to Miami-Dade County property records. They sold it for $6.35 million in April 2013.

Sunbeam Properties developed the 400-acre Miramar Park of Commerce, one of the largest in South Florida. Ansin’s father Ed Ansin owns Sunbeam Television, a broadcasting company that owns television stations including WSVN Channel 7.

Proving that everything is for sale and has its price. And that value is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. But that “parcel next door” did not, could not, go with the house and at that price it was waiting for the right buyer.
