Actor Jeremy Piven bought a Tribeca penthouse, the Observer
reported citing public records. Ironically, the 6,000-square-foot 161 Hudson Street penthouse is not far
from the sushi restaurant Nobu (it was extreme mercury poisoning
from sushi that supposedly caused Piven to leave the Broadway production
of “Speed-the-Plow” in 2008). Piven, who stars on “Entourage,” took out
a $250,000 mortgage after paying $4.58 million. The condominium was
previously owned by Mets player Mike Piazza. The property was listed
by Prudential Douglas Elliman for $6.2 million and is described
as “muscular and voluminous” in the listing, the New York Post reported. It is in the
same building as the home of Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show.” [NYO] and [Post]
