With the addition of a new chief of marketing, Tishman Construction wants to parlay the strength of its reputation in New York into a brand that can compete  globally, according to Crain’s. Tishman has promoted its former senior vice president of marketing at Lend Lease and vice president of marketing, Tara Kassal, as it pursues more international business, following the firm’s acquisition by AECOM in 2010.

“Our old approach to marketing was just creating proposals,” Tishman CEO Dan McQuade, told Crain’s. “Tara will help us make it a whole other caliber, more strategic.”

Kassal will be responsible for growing global awareness of the Tishman and AECOM brands in an attempt to garner more first-time business in growing markets such as health-care and technology. McQuade told Crain’s that Tishman is also looking to take on more public sector and public-private partnership jobs, and that the firms is adding additional engineering and architectural resources.
